Sussex coronavirus: Here are the latest cases and infection rates for your area

As more regions across the country move into states of heightened restrictions, Sussex continues to fare relatively well in terms of coronavirus cases.

Social restrictions are in three tiers, with tier three bringing harsh regulations similar to those experienced in the early summer, while tier one relies on the current rule of six and 10pm curfews at hospitality venues.

Tier two is somewhere in between, with households not allowed to mix but pubs are not forced to close.

Regions are placed in tiers predominantly based on their infection rate, namely how many people are infected, per 100,000 of the population, per week.

Currently all of Sussex sits in tier one and every local authority has an infection rate below the national average, which stands at 123/100,000.

Some areas, such as Adur and Rother, have some of the lowest infection rates in the country.

Here are the infection rates, according to Public Health England, for the week October 14-20, as well as the total numbers of cases as of Friday (October 23):

Adur - 40/100,000 - Total cases: 322

Rother - 41/100,000 - Total cases: 344

Hastings - 44/100,000 - Total cases: 340

Lewes - 49/100,000 - Total cases: 574

Mid-Sussex - 54/100,000 - Total cases: 970

Arun - 54/100,000 - Total cases: 632

Chichester - 56/100,000 - Total cases: 544

Horsham - 63/100,000 - Total cases: 917

Wealden - 63/100,000 - Total cases: 857

Eastbourne - 64/100,000 - Total cases: 677

Worthing - 68/100,000 - Total cases: 697

Crawley - 75/100,000 - Total cases: 740

Brighton and Hove - 109/100,000 - Total cases: 1,925

A total of 854,010 people have now tested positive for coronavirus across the United Kingdom, rising by 23,012 yesterday (October 24).
