‘A History of Cuckfield in 20 Objects’ takes visitors on a journey from an iguanodon bone from Whitemans Green, which is more than 66 million years old, to an Independent State of Cuckfield passport from the mid twentieth century.

Many of the objects are from the museum’s reserve collection and are rarely seen but they each represent an aspect of local life over the centuries.

The artefacts chosen also demonstrate the immense wealth generated by the iron industry, as well as the ‘golden age’ of stage coaches passing through the village between London and Brighton.

‘A History of Cuckfield in 20 Objects’ will run until May.
