Our reporter wrote at the time that problems with the delivery of the kits caused by the Icelandic Volcanic ash cloud saw organisers push the annual open day back two weeks to coincide with the opening day of the season. Still the new kits hadn’t arrived by the weekend but this didn’t deter the floods of youngsters, parents and coaches from descending on the club’s Infield Manor home for a feast of entertainment ahead of the serious business of getting the season under way.
