Bluegrass back in Arundel

The Willows Folk Club in Arundel is building up a reputation as one of the leading venues in Sussex for presenting bluegrass music – a reputation it will extend on Wednesday, August 1 with a visit from Brighton-based Amy Harrison & The Second-Hand String Band.

Willows spokesman Chris Davis said: “Over the course of the past couple of years, Amy and the band have built up a strong following across the south for their effervescent live performances, powerful vocals, dextrous instrumental work and wide-reaching selection of bluegrass and Americana material.

“With the line-up of guitar, mandolin, banjo and double bass, the band’s influences shine through for all to see, with a sound that would thrill many a bluegrass fan on either side of the Atlantic. The band also expand their repertoire to include bluegrass-inspired takes on some classic country numbers as well.
