Comedy and magic - a perfect blend

Pete Firman, the star of BBC1’s primetime Saturday night magic show The Magicians, will be touring the UK in Spring 2012 with his critically-acclaimed live show, Jiggery Pokery – a show that blends the coolest illusions with pitch-perfect comedy.

He plays Brighton’s Komedia on Wednesday, March 21 at 8pm. Tickets on 0845 293 8480.

Spokesman Paul Sullivan said: “With a mind-boggling mastery of magic and illusion, and a consummate capacity for perfectly-formed gags, Pete has rapidly become one of the UK’s most eminently-watchable and totally-unique performers both on TV and in his live shows.

“Pete Firman first burst onto our television screens as cheeky northerner Tufty in Monkey Magic (Channel5). Since then he has travelled the world meeting his magic heroes and performing his own brand of anarchic magic in The Secret World Of Magic (Sky One) and amazed viewers by performing disgusting tricks with animals, cigarettes and big spiky things in Dirty Tricks (CH4).”

Guest television appearances include The Culture Show (BBC2), Saturday Live Again! and For One Night Only (both ITV1), and helping Justin Lee Collins become a conjuror on The Convention Crasher (CH4) .

Pete most recently starred in primetime magic show Don’t Miss A Trick (BBC1), Derren Brown’s 3D Magic Spectacular (CH4) and Jason Manford’s Comedy Rocks (ITV1).
