Commercial electro style from Astro-Physics

Astro-Physics featuring Chichester’s Jonny Coote on keys and Haywards Heath’s Mike Hawkins on guitar release their new EP on the back of a big shift in the band.

As Jonny explains: “The band itself has been going for four or five years. It was about a year ago that we decided on a bit of a transition.

“We started out with drums, bass, guitar, sax and two rappers. It was more funk based and then about a year ago we decided to have a bit of a switch around. The sax player left; we got a female vocalist; and they got me in on keys. I used to do the occasional gig just to help out, but I was not a proper member of the band before.

“The style has gone quite different now. It is more commercial electro style.”

The new EP, It’s A Mindstate, comes out on March 12. It will be available on iTunes, HMV, Amazon, Spotify etc, and a limited run of CDs are being pressed.
