10,000 blooms made by Haywards Heath volunteers ready to be '˜planted'

An incredible 10,000 handmade flowers have been created by volunteers in Haywards Heath for the town's River of Poppies project, being held to mark the 100th anniverary of the end of World War One.

Free workshops were held across the district and groups, homes, schools and clubs of all ages took part.

Organiser Sylvia Harris said: “Everyone had fun and made many new friends in the process.

“I would like to personally thank each and every one who has worked so hard to achieve this amazing outcome.”

Now the team is appealing for people to help ‘plant’ the blooms in Muster Green 10am-4pm on Friday, September 21 and Saturday, 22.
