ROAD CLOSURES - The Haywards Heath Road will be closed from 11 January for about 18 weeks when after 11 bursts in five years South East Water is planning a project to upgrade 1.3 kilometres of old pipe in Borde Hill Lane to reduce the risk of homes and business in the area going without tap water. It will be taking place between the junction of Copyhold Lane and a point 400 metres north of River’s Road, just south of Upper Rylands Bridge. Access to all businesses along Borde Hill Lane, such as Borde Hill Garden, will be maintained at all times and diversion signs will be in place. South East Water apologises for the disruption, but hope that motorists and the local community will understand the long term benefits of this scheme. The closure is necessary because the road is already highly congested with utilities, so the only space that remains is in the centre of the road. A special page has been created on the South East Water website which will be regularly updated with scheme news:
Mill Lane will be closed near the Old Rectory between 4 – 6 January to allow access to manholes so that root removal and sewer cleansing works can take place. The hours of work will be 9.30 am until 3.30 pm. Diversion signs will be in place.

BALCOMBE BABIES have their Christmas Party next Tuesday 15 December at their last meeting of the year when there will be a special visit from Father Christmas. All parents and pre-school children are invited to attend and please bring a small named gift if you would like to participate. The cost of the session will be £3 and it is Tuesday 15 December 2.00 pm until 3.30 pm in Bramble Hall.
