90 MINUTES FOR 90 YEARS: On Friday 10 June at 7.00 pm in St. Mary’s Church there will be a Grand Village Celebration in words and music covering every decade of the Queen’s life. Jeffrey Lloyd-Roberts, David Moore, Ethan Merrick, Toby and Angharad Watkin, and the children of Balcombe will be performing with a programme including music from across the British Isles and the Queen’s favourite shows, poetry and drama. There will be an opportunity to join in too. The evening will conclude with music from “The Last Night of the Proms.” There will be light refreshments with a royal theme. Entry FREE, but donations can be made towards some of Her Majesty’s charities.
QUIZ: Pam and Barrie will be asking the questions in the Balcombe Club on Sunday 12 June at 8.00 pm. Teams of four.
CINEMA: The next film in the Victory Hall is Eddie the Eagle on Friday 17 June at 7.30 pm. Tickets cost £6 available from Threads.
QUILTING GROUP: A new working quilting group has started in Balcombe in Bramble Hall. Beginners will be taught and more experienced quilters will meet like minded people. The aim of the group is to work through projects together and exchange knowledge. The next session will be Thursday 16 June from 1 – 3.00 pm. The cost is £10 per session. RUBBISH FREIGHTER: two freighters will be available for use by residents on Sunday 19 June from 10.00 until 12 noon in the Victory Hall Car Park. One will be for garden waste and the other for general waste.
