CINEMA: The next film in the Victory Hall is the feel good film 'Sully: Miracle on the Hudson,' starring Tom Hanks; Aaron Eckhart; and Laura Linney. The film tells the dramatic story of how an American pilot crash-landed his plane on the Hudson River in New York, in order to save the lives of his passengers and crew. This screening will be Friday 24 February starting at 7.30 pm in the Victory Hall. The film is rated 12 A. Tickets £6.00 from Threads.

WI COFFEE MORNING: takes place on Saturday 25 February at 10.00 am until 12 noon in the Parish room with all the usual items - bric-a-brac, books, raffle, CAKES and more CAKES. Do come and support one of the oldest societies in the village.

WOMENS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: in on Friday 3 March and Balcombe will be celebrating at 2.00 pm in the Parish Room. The theme is “Am I being unfair to you” Philippines.

The regular CLUB QUIZ: takes place on Sunday 26 February at 8.00 pm in the Club. Teams of four.

VILLAGE ARTS WEEKEND: On Friday 3 March at 7.00 pm there will be A Balcombe Feast of Music in St. Mary’s Church when the programme will include modern classics, sing-along favourites as well as classical. Light refreshments will be served in the interval when you can also view an art exhibition by local artists. Entry is free but donations welcome.

Bach Choral workshop: On Saturday 4 March 10.00 am until 4.00 pm join the team for a Workshop on Bach’s St Matthew Passion. To register to sing at the workshop please contact Pennie on 811249 or [email protected]. At 3.00 pm there will be an informal concert to which all are welcome with tea and cake. Donations welcome.

On Sunday 5 March at 3.00 pm Janet Canetty-Clarke will be in conversation with Jeffrey Lloyd-Roberts about her life, work and travels as renowned choral trainer and conductor.
