A jet from Guernsey Airline, Aurigny, hit the bird as it attempted to leave the Guernsey Airport for London Gatwick at 10.30pm on Saturday September 26.

Engineers plan to repair the damaged left engine but flights to Gatwick from the island have been altered or delayed while a charter aircraft is found.
