The Batchelors Field Cafe, Rawson Hall, The Street, will be holding a barbecue on Friday August 28, 12 noon - 4pm. All welcome. The cafe continues to be open on Mondays (except Bank Holiday Monday) Wednesdays and Fridays for hot and cold food, between 10am and 4.30pm.
The Horticultural Society/Gardening Club are holding their annual flower and vegetable show in the Rawson Hall on Saturday August 29, 2.30pm. Admission free. There will be over 80 different classes in floral art, flowers, vegetables, cookery, photography and also three children’s classes - aged 4 - 7 and aged 8 - 11 (garden on a plate. Circular 12” (31cm) in diameter, and any persons up to 16th birthday, a posy or table arrangement size up to 12” (31cm). All entries must be sent to the Show Secretary at Fieldfare, 4 Paynesfield, no later than 6pm on Wednesday August 26. Late entries cannot be accepted.
