Bolney

BOLNEY HISTORY SOCIETY: More than 100 people gathered in the Rawson Hall on Saturday 10th November for the launch of the Local History Society's latest publication 'Bolney and the Great War'. Displayed in the Hall were 159 handmade poppies, one for every man from Bolney who went to war alongside handmade named crosses, one for every man who sadly did not return. Children from the Primary School read poems they had written which proved very moving. Their understanding reflected on the quality of the teaching they had received.

Refreshments made from authentic ingredients of the time received a mixed reception! “Look alikes” made with modern ingredients were popular, helped down with that great stand-by a nice cup of tea and some were even brave enough to try Camp coffee.

Copies of the book are available from The Street House or 29 The Street, price £10.
