Emergency engineering works at Haywards Heath is causing severe disruption on train services this morning (May 20).

A broken rail is the cause of the problem, which has left services in and out of Haywards Heath subject to delays and cancellations.

Southern Rail said, “Owing to emergency engineering works at Haywards Heath services are now able to operate south from Haywards Heath, but at a reduced speed.

“Services are subject to short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes.

“Buses are supplementing the train service between Haywards Heath and Brighton.

“Tickets are being accepted on Southeastern, South West Trains, First Great Western and London Underground.”
