Burgess Hill nursery celebrates Gruffalo author's Stick Man tale

The Kiddi Care day nursery has spent a whole week celebrating the story of Stick Man.

The celebration at the nursery, in Burgess Hill, saw the children taking part in activities inspired by the story by Julia Donaldson; including role-playing their favourite scenes.

Emma Bamford, the nursery manager, said: “Stick Man is a wonderful story for children and with its wintry feel is perfect for this time of year. The children also love it because Father Christmas makes an appearance, saving Stick Man from a sticky end.”

The book was adapted into a short film this winter and quickly became a family favourite.

Stick Man is one of many of Julia Donaldson, originally from Steyning, children’s books published; the most well-known being The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child.

The children at Kiddi Care learnt and recited rhymes from the book and created their very own stick men.

Kiddi Care provides premium childcare for children up to five years old. For further information about Kiddi Care go to www.kiddicaru.com or call 01444 257971.
