Dan Webber, land director for CALA Homes (South Home Counties), told the Middy: “We’re delighted to have received approval to bring these new homes to Plumpton Green, and that Lewes District Council agreed with our proposals, which are sensitively designed to deliver a well-considered and high quality development that will positively contribute to the area.

“Forty per cent of the homes will be allocated as affordable housing in a mix of two and three-bedroom houses, which is no doubt great news for first-time buyers who are looking to buy in the area but are currently priced out of the market. We’re looking forward to starting work on site in spring 2019.”

Following the agreement of developer contribitions with Lewes District Council, formal planning permission for the homes was approved.

CALA said it will also be contributing £350,000 to the district council, to improve facilities in the area, and towards recycling and traffic regulation.
