Steve Willis in Burgess Hill saw its highest ever number of apprentices graduate this year.
More than 70 newly qualified plumbers, gas engineers and electricians were joined by their families and employers at the training centre’s graduation evening on November 22.
Managing director Steve Willis said: “Our apprenticeship training is going from strength to strength, and I am delighted to see our highest ever number of apprentices graduating this year. I wish them well as they continue their careers.”
The graduation evening was held at the King’s Centre in Victoria Road and was attended by 200 people.
Those who attended included town mayor Chris Cherry and leading industry representatives from companies including Worcester Bosch, which sponsored the individual awards.
The annual event is a chance to celebrate the hard work of apprentices and to mark the completion of their apprenticeship.
The apprentices were awarded a certificate and several recognition awards, including Apprentice of the Year in each trade.
This year, it was not just Steve Willing handing out awards. The company was too awarded in the prestigious City & Guilds Training Centre of the Year Lion Awards.
Megann McKinnon from City & Guilds came down from London to present the trophy to the training centre.
During the evening there was a charity auction and raffle, which raised more than £500.
Prizes included a Porsche driving experience at Silverstone motorsport venue.
The funds raised are going to Burgess Hill Youth, a spokesman said.
Steve Willis Training Centres has more than 17 years’ experience in gas, plumbing and electrical training.
