Cars spinning on icy road

Traffic is slow in both directions around the B2116 junction on the B2118 in Albourne, reports said today (January 12).

Police have warned drivers to take care on the minor roads leading to the A23 this morning due to ice.

Vehicles had been reported spinning and skidding on black ice on the B2118 at Albourne, Hassocks and the Balcombe Road at Haywards Heath at around 7am.

A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “We would urge drivers to take extra care on the roads this morning as some minor country roads appear to be icy in some places.

“Even if you do not need to clear ice from your car this morning please be aware that where you are travelling to may be icy.”
