Cat hotel is on its way for Easter opening

Cats in Mid Sussex will be able to enjoy a little bit of luxury as plans for a cat hotel have been approved.

Longcroft Luxury Cat Hotel’s application was submitted back in October for seven bespoke cat suites to form Longcroft Haywards Heath in Scaynes Hill Road, Lindfield.

A Mid Sussex District Council spokesperson said: “Planning permission was granted by delegated decision, which meant it didn’t need to go to committee.”

Founder and owner of Longcroft Abi Purser said: “The team at Longcroft are very excited to be bringing Longcroft to the people of Haywards Heath.

“The build has got off to a great start and we hope to be open by Easter.”

When open, pampered cats will be able to enjoy wrought iron design cat beds, soft pillows and gourmet ‘A La Cat’ menu served on bone china, along with mood music and personal grooming sessions.

“I love Haywards Heath, the area, the people. There is a community feel, with lots of nice bespoke and independent shops.

“It is relatively close to Brighton and it is just a lovely place and I think the business will do well here,” Abi said. “And our Facebook page will be regularly updated with progress of the build.”

The report said the application was granted because: “A cattery is considered to be a quiet business and the new building will not be readily visible from a public space.

“As there is also a large area of parking, the scheme will not significantly impact on either parking or highway safety.

“It is therefore considered that the proposal accords with policies B1, B3, C1 and T4 of the Mid Sussex Local Plan.”

Abi added that anyone wishing to find out more about the hotel or to book their cat in for a stay should contact [email protected]

She is also looking to expand into Brighton.
