Chailey

HUGE THANK YOU: to the Bonfire Society and everyone who helped them make the bonfire celebrations such a success. Although not the best of evenings weather wise it was great to see people watching and supporting the Society along the road, at the memorial and on the field. The memorial service was particularly special this year, with friends from visiting societies taking part and laying wreaths during the service. The Bonfire Society hope that you enjoyed the evening; if you have any comments or suggestions about the event please let the Society know via email to [email protected].

ANOTHER THANK YOU: In very poor weather conditions, persistent rain in fact, 225 trekkers took part in Track Trek at the Bluebell Railway. The initial estimate of the money raised in sponsorship is £11,000, after deducting the costs of staging the event. The money raised will be divided between the OP4 and ASH projects. A special thank goes to all who turned out in such poor weather conditions, be they Trekkers, marshals, station staff or the many volunteers who carried out other roles to make the Trek possible. Your contribution to the Railway is greatly appreciated. Special praise must go to James Young for his management of the event. The time and effort he put in to see it run so smoothly was enormous.
