INFORMATION NEEDED There was a burglary in Station Road, North Chailey, sometime after 4pm but before 9pm on Sunday January 17. It is thought that the offenders have removed an external key safe and used the key from within to gain access. Electrical items and jewellery has been stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police by email at [email protected] or call 101 (calls cost a flat rate of 15p per call).

BLUEBELL RAILWAY will not be running any train services until Saturday February 6 whilst a major resignalling scheme at Kingscote Station is being undertaken. HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY GATHERING is at the village hall on Saturday February 6 from 2.30pm to 5pm. All welcome and it is a chance to join the Society and receive the Schedule for the three shows. You are sure to get some excellent gardening tips, as well as advice on exhibiting. At the same time you can enjoy delicious homemade refreshments.

VALENTINES RAFFLE, organised by the Bonfire Society, will be drawn on Friday February 12. Tickets are on sale at the Horns Lodge. Please support the Society if you can.

PHOTOGRAPHS the Parish Council has a small collection of photographs of the village but would like to establish a Photo Gallery, on the new website. If you have a photograph that can be copied or information and advice, especially in regard to the exceptional number of listed buildings which stand in Chailey please contact the Web Administrator, as your assistance will be much appreciated.

SECRETARY NEEDED The Bluebell Railway Preservation Society Governance Review Development Group wishes to appoint a Secretary to take minutes at meetings of the group and sub groups, produce final copy, and distribute these within the group. The candidate will have a good working knowledge of Windows 7 or above and will be capable of working in a sensitive environment where his or her skills in organisation and communication will be fully utilised. This post is on a voluntary basis and will provide the candidate with an opportunity to contribute towards the future of the Railway. The vacancy has arisen due to the increasing workload of the group as the review reaches an important stage in development. Candidates should contact the group at 07799116654 or [email protected].
