Chailey Horticultural Society has hosted a ‘really joyful’ autumn show packed with produce.
Exhibitors and visitors came together in Chailey’s village hall, for the final show of the year.
Peter Estcourt, show organiser, said: “It was a very good show.
“We had a lot of new exhibitors come along.
“The standard was very high, it always amazes me at just how high the standard is.
“What is particularly gratifying was a lot of new visitors.
“The atmosphere was amazing, really joyful.
“Everyone has a really good time.”
Unlike previous shows the organiser noticed at how many visitors and exhibitors came from outside of the village.
The judges included David Vivash for horticulture, Joan Jones for cookery, Margaret Hughes for handicrafts and Shirely Carmen-Jones for flower arranging.
Mr Estcourt said: “Although entries were a little down on previous years probably due to the difficult growing conditions we have experienced, the standard remained excellent and we were glad to welcome a number of new exhibitors from both in and out of the village, we are after all an open show.”
