Chance to find out about Wivelsfield's links with Sierra Leone

The link helps to support a church, two schools, and the secondary education of nine sponsored children.

On 14th October, at 7:30pm at Wivelsfield Village Hall, the parish is holding a ‘Sierra Leonean Evening’ where it will be possible to find out a lot more about the sponsored children, how the link schools have been doing since the Ebola crisis, how the country is doing as a whole, and updates from the latest trip out there in June 2016.

Charley Hill, who has visited the link parish several times in the past few years, said: “there is so much we can learn from this country – they have so little and yet so much to give. And they are such resilient people, especially since the Ebola crisis.

“This evening is to raise awareness of a country that still needs our help, and will do for a long time yet. Why not come along and learn about this beautiful country, what they eat, what day to day life is like, what they need, and get the latest information about the children we help at the schools and churches?

“You never know, you may end up hooked on Sierra Leone like I did!”
