Mary’s Meals is an international charity that supplies 700,000 meals a day to chronically hungry children in a place of learning so that they are attracted to education at the same time as food.

Charlie, from Crawley, has been raising funds for Mary’s Meals for some time and this year he celebrated his 13th birthday by visiting a kitchen in Malawi funded by money he had raised.

Also at the Inner Wheel presentation was the chairman of District 25 Inner Wheel Clubs, Pat Wallace who was presented with a cheque raised at a Pamper Evening held last October organised by the Overseas Committee of Cuckfield and Lindfield Inner Wheel Club.

Inner Wheel clubs concentrate on friendship and personal service. Clubs select their own charities and channels of service, though raising money is not the main objective. This year the President’s Charity for the Inner Wheel Club of Cuckfield and Lindfield is the Clck Charity, which aims to reduce re-offending by ex-offenders by training and placing them in the hospitality industry.
