Child hit by car in Hassocks

An eleven-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after he was hit by a car in Hassocks on Friday (March 4).

The child was struck by a black Nissan Micra, driven by a 19-year-old man from Hassocks, on Grand Avenue, at the junction with Kings Drive, shortly before 4.30pm.

The boy, who is also from the town, was flown to St George’s Hospital in London where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

The driver was unhurt.

PC Doug Park said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision on Friday afternoon.

“Witnesses can email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Rossini.”
