Luke Samson called on his friends and followers to ‘like’ his status on Facebook yesterday. Luke posted, “1,000 likes and I’ll jump on the stage at Cineworld Eastbourne and do a full strip routine through Magic Mike XXL @ 8.30.”

True to his word he jumped up on the stage and stripped to a full house of women.

He said, It started as just a bit of a joke. I put it up just an hour or so before the start of the film and I said 1,000 likes because I thought that was completely ridiculous and it would never get to that number.

“But about 10 minutes before the start of the film it reached 1,000 and then it just got higher and higher.”

The total ‘likes’ reached around 1,600.

Luke, a 25-year-old car salesman, added, “To be quite honest I felt physically sick and was so nervous throughout the whole film.”

He explained he wasn’t sure whether or not he was going to go through with the stunt and wondered about backing out.

Luke said, “When I walked in to the cinema people were pointing at me and saying, ‘that’s him’.

“The girl sitting behind me was also nudging my chair to tell me to go and do it.

“So to be honest I thought that if I backed out everyone would think I was a bit of an idiot.”

Luke has been overwhelmed by the response with thousands commenting, sharing and liking the many videos that were posted on social media by the largely female audience.

He said, “Surprisingly, the audience went crazy for it. They were all clapping and cheering and I was quite surprised as I haven’t exactly got a rippled body.”

National newspapers and even American radio stations have been covering his antics and he has had a few requests by hen parties.

he told the Herald, “I don’t think I will be doing any of them.”

Cineworld said they would rather cinema-goers kept their clothes on but Luke says he thinks they were informed about his intention and made no attempt to stop him.

Luke added, “Some people have suggested that I do some more random pop-up strips at cinemas.”

He admits being a practical joker and the former Eastbourne Technology College student says he is ‘well known’ on Facebook for joking around. Luke added, “I just started it to give people a bit of a giggle but I didn’t think it would go this far.”
