COUNTY NEWS: Body found on beach

A body has been found on a Sussex beach this morning (Friday, February 12).

A woman walking her dog on De La Warr Parade in Bexhill alerted police when she spotted the body in front of the Bexhill Sea Angling Club shortly before 7.20am.

Police and paramedics raced to the beach, but sadly the woman, believed to be in her 50s or 60s, was declared dead at the scene.

She has not been identified.

It is not yet known how the woman came to be on the beach or how she died.

Sussex Police say her death is currently being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.
