The couple made national headlines this week after local photographer Wayne Spring caught photos of the couple standing near the edge of Seaford Head.

Following the coverage 34-year-old Dutch tourist Marcus, who posed for photos with his friend from Brighton, said he wants to warn other hikers to avoid the cliff edge.

He said, “During our hike we met one woman who said, ‘Hi guys do you know its dangerous out there?’

“We smiled and said, ‘yeah we know we will be fine’, not knowing how dangerous it actually was.

“Later up there we enjoyed the view and decided to make some pictures at the cliff.

Not knowing the risks he had taken, Marcus posted his photos on his instagram account – Amsterdamstreetwise – and returned home.

After returning to his friends house in Brighton, Marcus saw photos of him and his friend on the news.

Marcus said, “Everyone should know that we didn’t ignore any important signs. But we want to tell everyone, if you ever decide to go for a hike make sure you got also background information about the place you are heading to.

We aren’t stupid, we were just not aware about the high risks we went through. Let this be a warning for all hikers.”
