A road closure will be in place between Seaford College and north of Folly Lane (Sutton Road), from 9.30am to 4pm between May 9-13, May 16 and 17, May 19 and 20.

A signed diversion route will be via the A27, A29, B2138, A283 and Haslingbourne Lane. Duncton Village will be open at all times and accessible via Petworth.

The work is scheduled to take up to two weeks to complete, weather permitting. It will be carried out Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 5pm. Works during the road closure will take place between 9.30am to 4pm.

Lionel Barnard, County Council Deputy Leader with responsibility for Highways and Transport, said: “The road closure is essential for some of the work to be carried out due to the narrow width of parts of the road.

“A lot of work has been planned to be delivered in a very short period of time to make use of the closure and keep disruption to a minimum to motorists in and around the area.”
