Awards given to the volunteers who help in keeping us safe

Volunteers who help fight crime as members of Sussex Neighbourhood Watch has been recognised at the inaugural National Neighbourhood and Home Watch Awards. It is further acknowledgement for the organisation after its chairman, John Wright was made an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to Neighbourhood Watch and the community in Crawley, where he lives.

The national award winners were announced at the House of Commons as part of National Neighbourhood and Home Watch Week.

Winners for each of the 10 categories were invited to the stage and presented with a crystal trophy and framed certificate in recognition of their outstanding contribution. The runners-up were also invited to the stage and presented with framed certificates.

Sussex Neighbourhood Watch Search Teams (Sussex) were winners of the category of Innovation, while Crawley Neighbourhood Watch Association (Sussex) was the runner-up in the category of Inspiring Youth.
