Crawley assault: man seriously injured by group of men

A man has suffered serious injuries in a Crawley assault, according to police.

Sussex Police have launched an investigation after a man in his forties suffered serious multiple injuries in an assault.

The victim was walking along Broadway, Crawley at around 9.30pm on Sunday (September 20) when he was approached by a group of five young adults, police said.

The group followed the victim towards the car park in the Boulevard where he was punched and kicked. The victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The suspects were described by police as black, aged between 17 and 20, wearing dark clothing with hoods up and were all using bicycles.

A spokesman said: "If anyone witnessed the assault, recognises the suspects in the photographs or has information to assist the police investigation please report online or call 101 quoting Operation Burgate."
