Crawley man found not guilty of woman’s murder

A jury has found a Crawley man not guilty of murdering a woman at a flat in the town.

Louis Harry Navarre, 57, a cleaner, of Blackwater Lane, Crawley, was accused of murdering Marie Denise Toulsee in July 2018.

On Wednesday (November 4), a jury returned its not guilty verdict at Guildford Crown Court following a five-week trial.

Ms Toulsee was sadly pronounced dead at a flat in Warren Drive on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.

After the verdict was announced, Detective Inspector Chris Rambour, of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, said: “I’d like to thank the jury and all witnesses who provided evidence during this five-week trial. We respect the decision of the court, and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family.”
