Drugs bust in Bentswood

Two people have been arrested and a house closed down after class A drugs, suspected as being heroin, were found there.

Sussex Police said officers found that class A drugs were being dealt from the property in Haywards Heath.

A drugs warrant was carried out on Friday April 12 at the property in Bentswood and a 21-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman from Haywards Heath were arrested on suspicion of supply of a Class A drug (heroin).

Detectives said the pair were bailed until July 9 while investigations continue.

After speaking to local residents, the police and housing provider Affinity Sutton worked closely to get a closure order notice to have the house closed down.

On Friday April 19 magistrates granted the notice which now means the house can be closed for up to three months.

Inspector Paul Tomlinson said: “We are pleased to have been able to get the closure order notice and give relief to residents near by who were concerned about antisocial behaviour.”
