Andrew said: “It’s just disappointing really that people want to vandalise property in this way.”

One youth scrawled on the shutter door with a felt tip pen before a second joined in, he added.

But the youths then spotted CCTV cameras and attempted to remove the graffiti according to Andrew.

In a statement the club said: “We would appreciate it if they [the vandals] would return by Wednesday August 19 to clean this off, otherwise we will have to take the matter further.”

Speaking to the County Times today, August 19, Andrew said he believes somebody may have already returned to clean the messages off the shutter.

He added: “It doesn’t look anywhere near as bad as it was.

“I would like to think somebody did come back and clear it up. It’s quite faded now.”

He said the club is yet to decide what action will be taken.
