Three arrested after robbery in Crawley

Police scrambled to the scene of a robbery in Crawley in the early hours of Tuesday morning (July 28).

Crawley police said on Twitter that within five minutes of the call coming in, officers had three people in custody on suspicion of robbery.

The force added that the victim was safeguarded.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “We responded to reports of an attempted robbery in The Boulevard, Crawley, at around 2.30am on Tuesday (July 28).

“Three men approached another man and demanded he handed over his bags.

“Officers swiftly attended and arrested two 18-year-old men from Crawley on suspicion of attempted robbery and a 19-year-old man, also from Crawley, on suspicion of robbery.

“All three remain in custody and the investigation is ongoing.”
