Village skate park near Horsham ‘partly burnt down’

A danger alert is being sounded after a fire ‘partly burnt down’ a skate park on the edge of Horsham.

The warning is being made by Southwater Parish Council which says the skate park near Southwater Country Park - previously targeted by vandals on a number of occasions - has been shut with immediate effect.

In a statement, the council says: “The Skate Park in Stakers Lane has partly burnt down.

“PLEASE DO NOT VISIT THE AREA, it needs to be investigated and therefore is absolutely important that people do not walk or go near the area.

“It is DANGEROUS and is CLOSED WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

“Any dog walkers in the nearby area, please keep your dogs on the lead because it is a dangerous area.”
