Museum Talk: on 'Thursday 15th November, 2.30 pm, in the Council Chamber, Queen's Hall. We are delighted to welcome back Ian Everest to give the talk that had to be postponed earlier in the year, 'Tales from the Riverbank', an illustrated glimpse of some of the less well-known aspects of life in the Ouse valley between Lewes and the sea. Areas of interest will include the agricultural, industrial, aviation, sporting and artistic heritage of the area. Muggery Pope, Mount Misery and the sport of kings '“ all will be explained. The Independent State of Cuckfield Mayor’s Election: takes place this year on Friday 19th October, followed by the Mayor’s Procession on Saturday 20th October

This year’s candidates are: Leanne Knapman (White Harte) Evelyn Steyning (Independent), Edward Hill (Talbot), Paul Leppard (Wheatsheaf), James Clark (Rose & Crown)

Election Night is Friday 19th October at The White Harte Pub from 8pm, with the new Mayor being announced at 11pm.

The Mayor’s Procession takes place on Saturday 20th October leaving Warden Park School at 2.30pm and arriving on the High Street at approximately 3.30pm.

The route goes up London Lane, along London Road to Brainsmead and then all the way back down London Road to the High Street where there will fun on the High Street with music and children’s entertainment.

Two marching bands and plenty of decorated floats will make this an event not to be missed. Everyone is welcome to walk with the procession or just watch from the sidelines. If you wish to enter a float or a walking team please email [email protected]

Community Concert: Holy Trinity Church 6pm, Saturday 10th November

The concert will be performed by a Community choir, children from Holy Trinity Primary, Warden Park Academy and Oathall College, Soloists and Holy Trinity Church choirs.

There will be a beautiful programme of music by composers from WW1 period and including “All that I Am” a new composition specially commissioned for the concert.
