A day of speed, daring and fancy dress is on the cards for the biggest event in one village’s annual calendar – the Bolney Pram Race.
The fundraiser takes place on Easter Monday, which falls this year on April 6.

Dozens of Mid Sussex residents, and even some from further afield are expected to descend on the village with their prams to raise money.
This year racers will be supporting two charities – SERV – Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers which transports emergency blood and Dreamflight which takes ill or disabled children to Orlando in Florida.
Organiser Robert Dryer, also known as ‘Posh Bob’, who works for Lloyds Bank in Haywards Heath, and Emma, landlady of the Eight Bells pub in The Street, Bolney, are now appealing for racers and for more corporate sponsors for this year’s event.
Bob said: “Last year we raised £10,152 and my dream is to raise even more because these two charities are such good causes.
“Every last penny gets divided equally between the two charities.”
There will be two races, the children’s race which starts at midday and the adults’ race starting at 1pm. Organisers are also appealing for volunteers who can help on the day.
