Developers join forces to build 600-home estate between Horsham and Crawley

Two major housebuilders have joined forces in an eight year project to build a 600-home estate between Crawley and Horsham.

The developers - Thakeham and Radian - announced their joint venture today to build the homes and a new hospice facilty on land in Pease Pottage.

The 619-home development, including plans for a new primary school as well as the new St Catherine’s hospice, has already been given planning approval.

The 45 hectare site is off Parish Lane to the south of Crawley and to the east of the Moto Service Station in Pease Pottage. The homes are expected to be developed within eight years. The overall development has outline planning permission and detailed planning consent for the first two phases of development which includes the primary school.

Under the agreement, Thakeham, who currently operate throughout the south east, will project manage all elements of the development process, including planning, construction and sales.

The joint venture with Radian will be split on a 50/50 basis with both companies sharing development costs of the homes as well as income.
