The first member of the U3A group to strike gold in this award. Tricia’s success was celebrated at a get-together with other members of the group, who were celebrating achieving their silver and bronze awards.

Each level of the award, which is aimed at the over-50s, comprises four sections, and for her gold award Tricia set herself four different challenges.

This included completing the last section of the South Downs Way to Winchester and exploring the life and works of Jane Austin, organising all the flower arrangements at her local church, creating a memorial garden within her own garden and continuing her development in tai chi classes.
