Dithchling WI - For THE September meeting we enjoyed listening to speaker Edward Padgett talking about the life of Stanley Holloway and reciting some of his monologues. Most knew of some of them and remembered the notable films he appeared in. this was followed t with tea and biscuits. The flower of the month was won by Briony the next meeting Thursday 1st October 2.15pm, in Ditchling village hall, is a members meeting.Visitors are very welcome
Ditchling Mummers Workshop Wednesday 7 October 2015 8:0pm --Lower Village Hall, Ditchling Ditchling Mummers will perform at the Bull Hotel in Ditchling on Boxing Day this year, 26 December for the 30 consecutive year. It is now a local tradition that attracts 300-400 local residents and visitors. Collections are for charity. To help this now established event to continue we are seeking new members. All men are welcome, no experience needed but if you can sing, dance, read a script, play a musical instrument and happy to perform in front of large crowds or just want to help - you would be most welcome.If interested in performing this year, we are holding introductory Mumming Workshops on Saturday 3rdOctober at 10.30am and Wednesday 7th October at 8.00pm. Both will be in the Lower Village Hall, Ditchling. MARY HOLMAN -The Parish Council are holding a party for Mary’s retirement as Clerk to the Council on Friday 16th October. This will be held in the Barn on the Village Green between 5.30pm and 7pm There is also a collection and a card to sign in the Post Office. Please can you sign the card by the 10th October. Only a handful of tickets remain for this event, which will be hosted by top Brighton DJ ‘Tommy the Legend’. Tommy’s knowledge of 60s music and his enthusiasm for it are well-known to audiences in the area.
