This event is sponsored by local businesses and is a ‘lovely’ link between the school and the local community.

Visitors to the school’s Christmas market were invited to vote for their favourite tree, for only £1.

The school’s festive forest has raised £693.63 for the Chestnut Tree House Hospice.

This year the trees were sponsored by Marchants Estate Agents, Orion News, Freedom Leisure, Profiles Health & Beauty, Proper Coffee, Hassocks Parish Council, Station Garage, QD Stationery, Bella June Flowers, Thatchers Barbers, Bella & Meg Cafe, Hassocks Hardware, The Purple Carrot Cafe, Leahy’s Barbers, the Royal British Legion, Hassocks Infants School, Paul Bowley Funeral Directors, Hassocks EyeCare, Indigo, Windmills Junior School, Downlands Community School, Youth Groups of Hassocks, St Cosmos & St Damiens and the Chestnut Tree House Hospice.

The winning tree, the tree that raised the most money from voting, was Leahys Barbers decorated by Year 7 students Lucy Grovecott, Hannah Blake, Ayla Mackorie-Jamieson, Holly Barbour and Loriens Simpkin.

Local youth worker, Gary Pickett, also praised the Proper Coffee and Chestnut Tree House Hospice trees.
