East Grinstead businesswoman named hair extension specialist

Kerry Buckell, of KB Hair Extensions, was named winner of the hair extension specialist of the year category in the London Hair and Beauty Awards, now in its fifth year.

More than 400 top industry stars gathered at The Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Kensington for the glamorous event, hosted by award-winning broadcaster Zara Janjua and held in support of the Make A Wish Foundation.

After being named the winner, Kerry was presented with a trophy to take home.

She said: “To win this award was a complete shock.

“I had absolutely no idea that I would win as the finalists in this category were amazingly talented so to win was an absolute honour.

“I have run my business part time alongside full-time employment along with recently having a child so it really does show hard work pays off.”

Kerry decided to set up her own company in 2014, working part time as a hair extension specialist alongside her full-time job.

Over the last few years, she has worked with celebrity clients and has been featured in magazines such as Elle, Cosmopolitan, and Harper’s Bazaar.

This is the third award that Kerry’s mobile salon business has won, and she has been nominated for a further honour.

KB Hair Extensions is a finalist in the 2019 Business Women Excellence Awards for Sussex in the category of Entrepreneur of the Year. Winners will be announced tonight (Thursday, November 21).
