East Grinstead charity feasts raise thousands for charities

Thousands of pounds have been raised by a series of feasts raising funds for five charities.

The East Grinstead ‘charity feast’ event aimed to collect donations for Crawley Open House, The East Grinstead Foodbank, Crawley Prison Fellowship, Age UK East Grinstead and District and East Grinstead and District Mental Health Association.

A series of four fundraising meals were held at Quartol, Paglia e fieno, Hay and Straw and Gurkha at the Woodcock Inn.

Those who attended the four meals helped raise a total of £3,200, meaning that each charity received £640.

Representatives of each of the five charities met for the cheque presentation.

Charity feast events have been taking place in East Grinstead for about ten years, and are supported by various members of the community.

The events are all promoted by the East Grinstead Justice and Peace Group which has been running for 30 years.
