Fresh proposals have been put forward for 28 homes and a 106-space car park near Pulborough rail station.
The proposals were initially refused by Horsham District Council last Novemer but this week they have been resubmitted by development company Willowmead and Network Rail.
Planning permission is being sought for the 28 homes on land adjacent to Railway Cottages, the station and Stopham Road, Pulborough.
The homes are planned to include nine ‘affordable’ units, in a range of two-storey buildings comprising detached, link-detached and semi-detached houses and flats together with garage and surface car parking.
A new pedestrian and vehicle access point is porposed off Stopham Road, the incorporation of private and communal amenity space, planting and landscaping, along with the formation of a 106 space station car park together with a range of offsite highway improvements along Stopham Road.
The proposals were turned down last November when councillors said they felt that the plans would set a dangerous precedent to go against their almost adopted district-wide planning framework.
