Festive hampers delivered to people in need in Burgess Hill this Christmas

Festive hampers containing food and seasonal fare have been delivered to families and individuals this Christmas thanks to kind and generous donations from the Burgess Hill community.

The project was organised by a group of organisations, including Burgess Hill District Lions Club, The King’s Church Mid-Sussex, Burgess Hill Food Bank, Burgess Hill Town Council, Burgess Hill Youth and Burgess Hill and District Rotary Club.

A total of 280 hampers have been delivered to bring some festive cheer to people who are struggling financially this Christmas.

A spokesman for the town council said: “The project will help household budgets stretch a little further and bring some festive cheer to people who are struggling financially this Christmas.

“Thank you to the school ambassadors from Downlands Community School, pupils from Woodlands Meed School, Cambridge Audio volunteers and several local volunteers who helped pack the hampers.”
