Fire destroys shed in Haywards Heath

A fire destroyed a shed and left another property damaged in Haywards Heath this morning (Wednesday December 2).

Firefighters were called to a home in Franklands Village at around 10.15am.

A spokesman for the fire service said crews from Burgess Hill and Haywards Heath spent more than an hour tackling the blaze which destroyed a 5m by 3m garden shed. Part of an adjacent property was also damaged by the flames.

Two breathing apparatus and two hose reels were used to tackle the fire along with two thermal imaging cameras which checked for hotspots.

The fire is being treated as an accident and crews are currently investigating the cause of the blaze.
