Firefighters put out bedroom fire in Burgess Hill

Fire crews were called to a bedroom fire in Burgess Hill.

The two crews left for the two-storey house in Foxglove Close at 6.18pm on Tuesday (May 12).

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters with breathing apparatus used a high pressure hose reel and covering jet to put out the flames.

The fire was started accidentally in the first floor room.

Half of it was damaged by smoke and ten per cent by fire.

Burgess Hill firefighters checked the scene with a thermal imaging camera and left at 8.43pm.
