Flooding causes train delays between Haywards Heath and Lewes

Major disruption between Haywards Heath and Lewes railway stations has been reported – due to flooding.

A statement by Southern Railway said: “Flooding in the Plumpton area is causing disruption to journeys between Lewes and Haywards Heath.

“Trains are currently unable to run from Lewes to Haywards Heath.

“Passengers travelling from Hastings, Eastbourne and Lewes towards Haywards Heath and London are advised to travel via Brighton.

“A bus service from Lewes to Haywards Heath is being organised but is currently not in place.

“There is no firm estimate yet of how long disruption will last but it is likely to continue until at least midday.”
