Former police officer Tony takes Mid Sussex maintenance job

Retired police officers with a passion for home maintenance and gardening could bring ‘peace of mind’ to residents in Mid Sussex.

Tony Nicol has joined Blue Local Handymen, a company for retired officers who are still keen to work in the community.

Tony said: “I started my police service in Mid Sussex and assisting the residents was part of my life for 30 years until I retired.

“Working as a Blue Local Handyman, providing a range of skills with the security of using a retired police officer is giving me the opportunity of giving something back to the residents of Mid Sussex again.”

Managing Director, Nick Orde-Powlett, is hoping the team of former officers will ‘bring security and peace of mind’ to people in Mid Sussex.

“Our vetting process is second to none,” he said.

“All of our handymen are friendly retired police officers with many years working in the local community under their belt – they understand people’s concerns and fears better than anyone else and they genuinely care.”
